First Responder Counseling

(Occupational Stress and Trauma)

It’s unfortunate that the people who protect us from physical harm in their line of duty are often emotionally harmed in the process.

Jada is part of a select group of uniquely qualified counselors dedicated to the specialized needs of firefighters and law enforcement. She also counsels other victims of occupational trauma and stress to find emotional healing through counseling. Jada’s counseling experience also includes working with patients within the Florian Program, an inpatient program for treatment of substance abuse for firefighters and paramedics, at the Rosecrance Harrison Campus in Rockford, IL.

Jada received her certification as a Recovery Coach from Governor’s State University through the Illinois Department of Human Services Division of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse. She recently earned her CADC (Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor) from the Illinois Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Professional Certification Association, Inc. She currently serves as a Clinical Director of Program Development for Illinois Firefighter Peer Support (ILFFPS) and the Clinical Consultant for Operation Shattered Stars (OSS). Most recently, Jada has been asked to join the advisory committee for the emotional wellness curriculum for the Illinois Fire Service Institute in Champaign, IL.
