Jada Hudson (M.S., LCPC, CADC), is a licensed Yorkville counselor and owner of Hudson Clinical Counseling who employs client-centered therapy that empowers individuals to take an active role in managing their life challenges. She has helped women, children and adolescents heal, grow and live for more than 20 years. Jada also specializes in counseling firefighters and first responders who have experienced occupational stress and trauma.
Jada offers support and counseling to firefighters and law enforcement dealing with an overwhelming amount of emotional and psychological stress related to their profession. She has specialized training as a police counselor and has dedicated herself to gaining a working knowledge of the unique firefighter culture and experience. Jada has recently received her certification as a Recovery Coach from Governor’s State University. She has worked with patients within the Florian Program, an inpatient program for treatment of substance abuse for firefighters and paramedics, at the Rosecrance Harrison Campus in Rockford, IL. She works on the advisory committee for the Illinois Fire Service Institute’s emotional wellness curriculum.
Jada helps children and adolescents face their emotional challenges and life transitions in order to heal, grow, and live! Jada employs client-based techniques to help these children and teens with behavioral and mental health issues by having them explore and identify the areas that affect their emotional well-being. Many of these issues are caused by substance abuse, anxiety and depression. She also has experience in domestic abuse, sexual assault and grief and loss counseling.
Jada has experience working in a women’s domestic abuse shelter and has a thorough understanding of the cycle of violence. For women, the demands of a career, motherhood, and caring for a family can be overwhelming and emotionally unsettling. Jada’s training in clinical psychology includes a rigorous curriculum with Alexey Shukin, Ph.D., who was mentored by Carl Rogers, the father of client-based therapy. She uses this eclectic approach, where the client will learn to identify areas in their life that needs change and how to employ insightful strategies to manage life challenges and stresses to heal, grow, and live!
