Since working with patients within the Florian Program, an inpatient program for treatment of substance abuse for firefighters and paramedics, at the Rosecrance Harrison Campus in Rockford, IL, Jada has dedicated herself to gaining a working knowledge of the unique first responder culture and experience. Jada has also recently received her certification as a Recovery Coach from Governor’s State University and her CADC (Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor).
There are many areas and issues detrimental to a child or teen’s emotional well-being. Some of these include substance abuse, anxiety, and depression. Gaining insight and experience as a former high school and college counselor for 15 years, and throughout her career, Jada has helped her young clients explore and identify these areas giving them the right tools to manage what life throws their way. She also has experience in domestic abuse, sexual assault and grief and loss counseling.
Jada enjoys helping women to heal, grow and live! Jada’s training in clinical psychology includes a rigorous curriculum with Alexey Shukin, Ph.D., who was mentored by Carl Rogers, the father of client-based therapy. Jada understands the special needs of women and the demands of a career, motherhood, and caring for a family which can be emotionally unsettling or even traumatic. Using an eclectic approach combining techniques from client-centered therapies, women will learn to identify areas in their life that needs change and how to use tools and strategies to manage their life challenges and stresses.
