But, did you know that your emotional wellness is also very important for equipping you to be able to continue to do your job effectively for a long time? The people you help and the things you see as a firefighter can leave lasting memories, sometimes lasting wounds. These wounds will impact you and your family if left unaddressed. But, just like physical injuries, emotional injuries can heal!
Jada is a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC) with special training in pediatric death and occupational stress and trauma, a Certified Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor, and the Clinical Director of Program Development for Illinois Fire Fighter Peer Support (ILFFPS) and the Clinical Consultant Operation Shattered Stars (OSS). The Illinois Fire Service recognized Jada as a subject-matter expert, and recently invited her to join their advisory committee to develop firefighter behavioral health/emotional wellness curriculum for firefighters throughout the state of Illinois. Jada develops trainings geared toward the specific needs of various groups, including firefighters, law enforcement, retirees, police leaders, cancer patients, those suffering from PTSD, and many others. These trainings spread awareness and strengthen emotional wellness and resiliency for first responders.

She will come to your firehouse, department, or meeting place and present about any topic related to emotional wellness and the first responders. Most trainings are two hours long and include interactive components as well as handouts to take home.
Jada will also come in and facilitate group or one-on-one conversations after traumatic incidents.
