Jada Hudson (M.S., LCPC, CADC), is a licensed counselor and owner of Hudson Clinical Counseling. For more than 20 years, Jada has explored and identified areas in her client’s lives helping them employ strategies to heal, grow and live.
Jada counsels women and children manage life’s transitions and challenges. She is also trained to counsel first responders, including firefighters and police, who have experienced occupational stress and trauma. Jada’s uses a client-centered therapy approach that empowers the client with the tools they need to overcome their individual challenges.
Jada received specialized training as a first responder counselor and has dedicated herself to gaining a working knowledge of the unique first responder culture and experience. Firefighter, paramedics, police officers, dispach, and other law enforcement officers often have to deal with an overwhelming amount of psychological and emotional stress, including PTSD. Jada offers support and counseling to these first responders. Jada has experience working with patients within the Florian Program, an inpatient program for treatment of substance abuse for first responders and paramedics, at the Rosecrance Harrison Campus in Rockford, IL. She also recently received her certification as a Recovery Coach from Governor’s State University and her CADC (Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor).
As a high school and college counselor for 15 years, Jada is able to offer personality assessments, academic and career counseling as well as helping children and teens explore and identify the areas and issues detrimental to their emotional well-being. Jada also has experience counseling children on issues related to pediatric oncology, grief and loss counseling as well as domestic abuse and sexual assault.
Jada understands the special needs of women, helping her clients find the tools and strategies they need to manage the everyday stresses of motherhood, a career, and caring for their families. Her training in clinical psychology included a rigorous curriculum with Alexey Shukin, Ph.D., who was mentored by Carl Rogers, the father of client-based therapy. Jada’s has full knowledge of the cycle of abuse and violence which she gained working in a domestic abuse women’s shelter. Jada helps women learn to identify the areas that need change in their lives and helps them to heal, grow and live.
