Jada Hudson (M.S., LCPC, CADC), has helped individuals heal, grow and live for more than 20 years by creating a safe, non-judgmental, and open experience to guide clients to resolution or adaptation to their life challenges. She is a licensed counselor and owner of Hudson Clinical Counseling. Jada counsels many populations of individuals like first responders, including firefighters and law enforcement, who have experienced occupational stress and trauma. She also helps women, children and adolescents struggling to manage life’s transitions or emotional challenges. Jada employs client-centered therapy, which means clients take an active role in employing strategies for healing.
Jada has recently received her certification as a Recovery Coach from Governor’s State University. She is one of the first to be specially trained to counsel firefighters and first responders in the State of Illinois. And, Jada recently earned her certification as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) in 2016. She has dedicated herself to counseling this specialized group. Jada attended the rigorous curriculum which was established through a grant from the Illinois Fire Chief’s Educational and Research Foundation. This program involves a combination of classroom, supervised counseling and ride-along time with active duty firefighters. She has also worked with patients within the Florian Program, an inpatient program for treatment of substance abuse for first responders, at the Rosecrance Harrison Campus in Rockford, IL. Jada works on the advisory committee for the Illinois Fire Service Institute’s emotional wellness curriculum.
In order to heal, grow, and live, Jada employs client-based techniques to help children and teens with behavioral and mental health issues. Throughout her career, she has taught adolescents to explore, identify and face their emotional challenges and life transitions. As a high school and college counselor for 15 years, she gained insight and experience in general counseling, as well as personality assessment and academic and career counseling.
Jada enjoys working with women to manage their life transitions to heal, grow, and live. Between motherhood, career, and caring for family, women experience many changes that can be emotionally unsettling or even traumatic. Jada’s approach to counseling combines techniques from client-centered therapies that empower the client with the tools they need to overcome their particular challenges. Jada’s training in clinical psychology included a rigorous curriculum with Alexey Shukin, Ph.D., who was mentored by Carl Rogers, the father of client-based therapy.
