Jada has dedicated herself to gaining a working knowledge of the unique first responder culture. Jada is a first responder counselor and is able to provide psychological support services to local firefighters, police, dispach, other officers, and their families. The rigorous curriculum and training involved a combination of classroom, supervised one-on-one counseling, and ride-along time with active duty firefighters and law enforcement.
Jada earned her certification as a Recovery Coach from Governor’s State University and runs a substance abuse relapse prevention group for firefighters. She has also worked with patients within the Florian Program, an inpatient program for treatment of substance abuse for firefighters and paramedics. Jada recently earned her CADC (Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor). Most recently, Jada was invited to join the advisory committee for the Illinois Fire Service Institute in Champaign, IL.
Throughout her career Jada has helped children and teens face their emotional challenges and life transitions. She specializes in behavioral management and mental health issues relating to substance abuse, anxiety and depression. Jada creates a non-judgmental and open experience while teaching them to take an active role in utilizing strategies for their healing. She also has expertise in pediatric oncology and domestic abuse counseling.
Jada guides women in making healthy choices for their body, mind and spirit and helps them manage their life changes in order to heal, grow and live. The demands of motherhood, a career, and caring for family can be emotionally unsettling or even traumatic. She has training in clinical psychology which included a rigorous curriculum with Alexey Shukin, Ph.D. who was mentored by the father of client-based therapy, Carl Rogers.
